The Toronto Focal Forum is a group of established photographers who meet in person to discuss the printed photograph. We enjoy dinner together every two weeks, from Autumn to Spring, and following our social time we can spend up to two hours viewing and critiquing our members' work.
Each photographer in the Forum is skilled and experienced: while we always hope to refine our craft and our art, every image critique starts with the understanding that the photographer has created the image that they wish to see. This evokes a fundamentally different environment from 'camera' groups where the presumption and feedback is often remedial. Accordingly, we embrace all genres and styles of work, and welcome those who may be looking for an environment where we are all peers.
