BARBARA BENDER
What I love most about photography is the sense of discovery and excitement that I feel when I find something to shoot in circumstances where there doesn't appear to be much to photograph at all. Rather than planning or pre-visualizing what I want to photograph, I prefer to wander about with my camera and recognize interesting visual design elements that I can work with, even in situations that might not be considered traditionally photogenic. I enjoy the challenge of finding ways to photograph these things, which are often quite ordinary and mundane. There is visual interest, and, often beauty, everywhere, and I rarely need to go very far to find and photograph it. If I can see it, I can photograph it!
